PUC to host meeting on effects of railroad coal deliveries

South Dakota's Public Utilities Commissioners are asking for input from a major railway company, utilities and others regarding recent changes in rail coal deliveries and how these changes could affect South Dakota utility consumers' electric service and rates. Presentations will be made by representatives of Otter Tail Power Company, Basin Electric Cooperative and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. Representatives from other industries that rely on rail service for delivery of product will participate as well. Those presenters include the South Dakota Grain and Feed Association (grain elevators), Broin Companies (ethanol), GCC Dacotah (cement), and Sprenger Midwest (lumber).
