PUC to host ice storm forum in Sioux Falls

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will host a public forum on July 9 in Sioux Falls at which regional electric utilities will discuss the impact of the April 2013 ice storm on their organizations.

Representatives of Xcel Energy, Southeastern Electric Cooperative and Sioux Valley Energy will discuss how they responded to and recovered from the ice storm that affected numerous electric customers in their territories. PUC commissioners Gary Hanson, Chris Nelson and Kristie Fiegen and PUC staff will be present at the forum.

The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Siouxland Library, Ronning Branch, 3100 E. 49th St. in Sioux Falls, S.D. The public is welcome to attend.
