COMPLAINTS

CN07-001         In the Matter of the Complaint filed by Thomas McDonald, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, against MidAmerican Energy Company Regarding Disconnection.

Complaint by Thomas McDonald against MidAmerican Energy regarding MidAmerican's disconnection of his utility service at Mr. McDonald's home and its demand for payment of resulting costs.  Mr. McDonald's natural gas was disconnected after inadequate notice, while he was away from home for three months.  MidAmerican not only disconnected Mr. McDonald's service, but then refused to reconnect his service until he agreed to pay for all costs that resulted from the disconnect.  Mr. McDonald contends he is not responsible for the disconnect costs as he was not aware the disconnect was imminent due to MidAmerican's inadequate notification.
