AGENDA OF THE AD HOC COMMISSION MEETING

Gas and Electric

1. GE97-004 IN THE MATTER OF THE FILING BY NORTHWESTERN PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY FOR APPROVAL OF REVISIONS TO ITS TARIFFS. (Staff Analyst: Bob Knadle. Staff Attorney: Karen Cremer.)

On December 5, 1997, the Commission received a filing by Northwestern Public Service Company (NWPS) for approval of its revised tariff sheets. The proposed revisions coincide with NWPS's conversion to a new customer information and billing system which is planned to go on-line on January 5, 1998.

Today, shall the Commission approve NWPS's tariff revisions?

Telecommunications

1. TC97-195 IN THE MATTER OF THE FILING BY HEARTLAND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY OF IOWA DBA HICKORY TECH CORPORATION FOR DESIGNATION AS AN ELIGIBLE TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIER (Staff Analyst: Harlan Best. Staff Attorney: Camron Hoseck.)

On December 17, 1997, the Commission received a request from Heartland Telecommunications Company of Iowa d/b/a Hickory Tech Corporation requesting designation as an eligible telecommunications carrier. On December 18, 1997, the Commission electronically transmitted notice of the filing and the intervention deadline of December 26, 1997, to interested individuals and entities. A hearing was held in this matter on December 23, 1997, and the record was left open until the expiration of the intervention deadline. No interventions were filed.

Today, shall the Commission designate Heartland Telecommunications Company as an eligible telecommunications carrier? And, what service areas shall be established by the Commission?
