Electric

1.     EL14-109     In the Matter of the Filing by NorthWestern Corporation dba NorthWestern Energy for Approval of a Contract with Deviations (Staff Analyst: Eric Paulson; Staff Attorney: Karen Cremer)

On December 31, 2014, the Commission received a request from NorthWestern Corporation dba NorthWestern Energy (NorthWestern) for approval of a contract with deviations with SD Soybean Processors, LLC and resulting tariff revisions. The proposed contract with deviations would discount the electric rate given to SD Soybean Processors, LLC for an interim period. NorthWestern proposes an effective date of February 1, 2015.

     TODAY, shall the Commission approve the contract with deviations?

Telecommunications

1.     TC14-019     In the Matter of the Petition of Blue Jay Wireless, LLC, for Designation as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier (Staff Analyst: Eric Paulson; Staff Attorney: Kristen Edwards)

On May 23, 2014, the Commission received a Petition for Designation as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier from Blue Jay Wireless, LLC for the purpose of offering Lifeline services on a wireless basis throughout a majority of South Dakota, in both rural and non-rural areas. On June 26, 2014, the South Dakota Telecommunications Association (SDTA) was granted intervention. On January 16, 2015, Blue Jay Wireless, LLC filed a Motion to Bifurcate.

     TODAY, shall the Commission grant Blue Jay's Motion to Bifurcate? OR, how shall the Commission proceed?

Announcements

  1. A hearing in docket EL14-026 will be held January 27-29, 2015, beginning at 9:00 a.m. CST January 27 in the Floyd Matthew Training Center in the Foss Building,
    523 E. Capitol Ave., Pierre, S.D.

  2. The PUC will host an open house for legislators Thursday, February 12, 2015,
    7:30-11:00 a.m. in the PUC office, first floor at the State Capitol Building, Pierre, S.D.

  3. The next regularly scheduled commission meeting will be Friday, February 13, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. CST in Room 413 at the State Capitol, Pierre, S.D.

  4. Commissioners and staff will attend the Winter Committee Meetings of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, February 15-18, 2015, at the Renaissance Washington Hotel, Washington, D.C.

  5. The PUC offices will be closed Monday, February 16, 2015, in observance of the Presidents' Day holiday.

  6. Commission meetings are scheduled for March 2 and March 17, 2015.
