Burg to Head Electricity Committee

The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners has announced that Jim Burg, S.D. Public Utilities Commissioner, will chair its electricity committee.

"We congratulate Commissioner Burg on his selection," said PUC Chairman Bob Sahr. "It is exciting to have a South Dakotan in this position."

The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) is a non-profit organization whose members include the governmental agencies that regulate utilities in the fifty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Burg will head the group's electricity committee.

Burg was elected to the PUC in 1986 and reelected in 1992 and 1998.
